After lunch at a local restaurant return to Rabat, with a visit to the Mohammed V Mausoleum. This splendidly adorned monument, crafted from white marble, stands as a symbol of the country's rich history. Today is dedicated to professional interaction with your Moroccan counterparts. Meetings will be requested with a local healthcare professionals including a visit to a local hospital or clinic. The primary objective for this journey is to achieve a better understanding of their religious and cultural practices and how that influences health related decisions as well as interaction with your counterparts to learn about advance practice nursing in Morocco.

Check out of your hotel and depart Rabat this morning as you head toward Fez. Your first stop today is in Meknes to visit one of the most amazing gates in the world, Bab Mansour. Built at the beginning of the 18th century, and completed in 1732 by his son, Sultan Moulay Ismail designed the gate as the grand entrance to the Imperial City of Meknes.
Lunch will be provided in Meknes this afternoon at a local winery including a tasting.
The afternoon will be dedicated to a visit to the Roman ruins in Volubilis (a UNESCO World heritage site). A Mauritanian capital, founded in the 3rd century B.C., this city became an important outpost of the Roman Empire and was graced with many fine buildings. Extensive remains of these survive in the archaeological site.

This morning, continue your professional exchange at a local university hospital such as Fez University Hospital or a similar medical facility.
Accompanying guests: Fez has meticulously preserved its medieval charm and way of life. Explore artisan workshops, unlocking the secrets of ancestral arts, and witness the artistry in public bakeries and pastry makers nestled in residential quarters, all against the backdrop of historical fountains, mosques, and sanctuaries.

After lunch, the group will explore the most complete medieval city in the Arab world. Visit the Karaouine Mosque, one of the most imposing in Morocco. It houses a university which is thought to be the oldest in the world and which was founded in the middle of the 9th century at a time when theology, grammar and Koranic law were the basic subjects taught. The El-Attarine medersa, situated opposite it, is the most beautiful in the medina. Also visit Fondouk el-Nejjarine – known as the “Wood Museum” – which faces the old Place el-Nejjarine or the “Carpenter’s Square.” The fondouk was constructed in the 18th century and originally served as a roadside inn for travelers and traders.

Immediately after breakfast, depart for Marrakech via the mountains and the cedar woods of the middle Atlas, passing by Ifrane, a charming ski resort and Beni Mellal, one of the agricultural centers of Morocco.

This morning the professionals will have a chance for a last professional visit to a local medical facility.
Accompanying guests: Guests will have some free time to explore the magnificently decorated 16th-century Saadian Tombs, wander through the old Kasbah and the Jewish Quarter.

This afternoon the group will take part in a cooking class with Chef Tarik followed by dinner. The experience takes place in the Amizmiz Valley, populated by Berbers who still stick to their traditional way of life. Just a short ride from Marrakech, this valley has been little affected by tourism and modernity. Seizing on the knowledge transmitted to him by the elders, Tarik is an expert on aromatic herbs. The chef will advise and guide as you prepare the dishes.

Spend the day exploring Marrakech, founded by the Almoravids at the end of the 11th century. The historical sites you will visit today include the Koutoubia Minaret, one of the best examples of hispano-moresque art; Bahia Palace and gardens; and Majorelle Gardens built by famous French painter Jacques Majorelle. immerse yourself in the enchanting beauty of the Garden. This captivating botanical oasis offers a serene retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Indulge in the lush greenery, vibrant flowers, and majestic trees that adorn this paradise. With its tranquil ambiance and stunning vistas, Majorelle Garden invites you to unwind and rejuvenate.

After lunch visit the famous Jemaâ el Fna Square and the souks. The traditional meeting place for peasants and merchants has become the heart of the city with its snake charmers, musicians, and other entertainers.

Lorraine serves as the Lorraine serves as the current President of the Nurse Practitioner Association (NPA) of New York State Region 5 as well as the chair of the Education Committee. She was born in Guyana before migrating as a teen to the US. She completed her nurse practitioner studies at Columbia University and Pace University Lienhard School of Nursing and her career path has focused on providing primary health care and urgent care to newborns, infants, children, adolescents and to a lesser extent, to adults.
A lover of travel she is passionate about medical volunteerism and missions to give back to those less fortunate in needed populations.
